Cristian Vargas is a guitarist from Chicago, IL. He started playing guitar when he was in 8th grade. From there, Cristian's passion for music evolved. It was during his junior year that he transferred to the Chicago High School for the Arts. Initially, he had only been exposed to church music and had no formal training. It was in school that he studied music theory, guitar repertoire, and had multiple ensembles and concerts.

Summer of 2015, Cristian attended Berklee College of Music’s five week program. There, he was able to meet some of the greatest musicians, some of which he is still in touch with to this day.

He attended North Central University after graduating high school for a semester as a music major. Cristian now teaches guitar here at SAC and still serves at the same church he first started to learn.
