Flexible opportunities. Meaningful impact. A chance to shape young musicians where it matters most.
We partner with school districts to bring high-quality music education directly to students. We’re building a network of instructors who are not only skilled in their craft, but who care deeply about creating a supportive, engaging learning environment.
Fluent or conversational in Spanish and comfortable working with bilingual students and families.
Prior teaching experience is helpful, but it’s not required. We’re primarily looking for instructors who are confident in their craft, communicate clearly, and care about creating a positive learning environment for students. If you have experience performing or working with others in a musical setting, we encourage you to apply.
The time commitment can vary depending on the specific school program and your availability. Most instructors teach on a consistent weekly schedule during school hours or after-school programming. We aim to offer flexible opportunities that align with your schedule whenever possible.
In many cases, we provide guidance on curriculum and structure to help you feel supported. That said, instructors are encouraged to bring their own teaching style and materials to best support their students. Specific details may vary by program and will be shared during the onboarding process.
This is typically a contractor role. Instructors are engaged on a per-program basis, which allows for flexibility in scheduling and commitment. We’ll provide full details on expectations and structure as part of the onboarding process.
The Starving Artists Community provides music instruction via in-person lessons and our online platform where students can connect, share their progress, and support each other in their musical journeys.
