Héctor Figueroa
Instructor: Voice

Héctor Figueroa was born and raised in Chicago Illinois as a Puerto Rican.
Being Puerto Rican, music is a central aspect of his identity and how he navigates the world. He has been dancing on rhythm since diapers and humming before he could speak.
Héctor did not receive any special musical training until attending Lincoln Park high school, where he made it to the top choir and studied as a music major.
His passion for music developed and took him on the journey he is currently in at North Central University (NCU) studying Worship Leading and learning more about music than ever before.
Music has always been more than just fun, Héctor has had music as one of his outlets for years. He loves songwriting and the ability to touch people’s lives through the gift of music.
Héctor is in the last semester of his 3rd year at NCU. He is a worship leader on a couple worship teams there, and the church he attends in Minnesota.
FUN FACTS:
Favorite Band: Maverick City Music
Favorite Musician: Yebba Smith, Sam Smith, Tori Kelly, and Kevin Garrett (Couldn’t choose just one, it’s hard to narrow it!) Most Memorable Concert Moment: First thing that comes to mind is going to a worship concert and seeing Kari Jobe perform a very artistic version of “Let the Heavens Open.” I could not bring myself to record because of the awe I experienced. It was amazing.
Favorite Venue to Play: North Central University for PG (Praise Gathering)
Strangest Venue Played at: A small hispanic church where the building was just a little run down and lacking in technology. The sound system wasn’t too good, and I got invited the night before to play bass so my preparation was almost non-existent. Still did good but it was just a rough time 😂
Favorite Musical Quote: “After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.” ― Aldous Huxley
